And he did cut it out. Ha, the epilogue was half the length of the main story. It's like having the round up text at the end of the movie telling you what happened to the characters being most of the movie. Hope you enjoyed the story. It was fun to do. Hopefully some more blobby people storylines will wander past in my imagination. Ill jump on them and tie them down. Then torture them till they give up all their secrets to me. Then I will recount them to you.

Don't you just hate it when you've just sat down and someone bothers you with something. You know you're perfectly capable of getting up, but by this time you have committed to it. There's no way you're getting up. You've just done something really hard and you're trying to reward your butt with a smothering or two.
I had to recount the bosses for Terraria. We have now wasted 50% of the bosses available. The next baddy on the list is called the Wall of Flesh. He's pretty much what the name says he is. He spans the height of the entire world. Which makes him literally laterally hard to get around. Ha. Bit of word play there for ya.

The weather is nice and rainy. It's one of those days where you feel good for staying inside. I did go out earlier and I got extremely moist. I was verging on wet even!

The Turning Pt.10

Hope you enjoyed that mini story. It kind of got out of hand for me a little. I was only expecting to do 3 parts but then it just kind of kept going. At some point I might go back and recolour the first couple so they're consistent with the others, and then package them up together for the library. Depending on what people think of it that is.

The idea of an epic journey always appealed to me. especially a noble solo one. I usually just walk to the dairy by myself instead though. Most of life doesn't require me to climb fantastical mystical landscapes.

The Turning Pt.7

over the last couple months I've been rediscovering my love for the Gorillaz. Mostly Demon Days. I only listen to a couple tracks from Plastic Beach. Superfast Jellyfish, Some Kind of Nature, On Melancholy Hill, and Plastic Beach. The latter being a recent favourite. From The Fall I only go for Amarillo, which is what I consider the theme song to my Femur comic.
For this particular strip I played the Kids With Guns remix over and over. It's not often I go on a repeat rampage.

The Turning Pt.6

I watched The Informant! earlier. Meh is the best way to describe it. Whitakere is a fun character. I guess it's the sort of thing you need to be in a certain mood for. If you're ever in the mood for a movie of talking heads, where you're not entirely sure of the protagonists quirks then it's definitely for you. It's a mood people aren't often in. At least it wasn't "more of the same." I guess.
Man, I would make a stink movie reviewer. Each article would be done in the classic kiwi style of "yeah nah yeah nah yeah nah awww naah yeah I guess."

The Turning Pt.5

Lets see how far I can take this idea huh? Nothings happened to me since the last post, and I haven't had any decent stories for a while so I'm going to recount one of my brothers instead.
Players: Ben (brother), Kate (sister in law).
Ben hates it how Kate goes to sleep with lozenges in her mouth. Just because he's petrified of her chocking on it in her sleep. Which I think is a perfectly legitimate reason. Apparently it's happened twice so far. The first time she went to sleep and started gagging on it Ben panicked so much he hit her so hard she was winded. I think this serves two purposes, the first is just your run of the mill violent heimlich maneuver. The second serves as a learning experience to not go to sleep with chockable bits and pieces in your mouth or you'l be smashed awake.

Aesthetically this series is really jarring. Ah well.
I'm digging the comic "Dungeon" at the moment. I read one a while ago which I thought was good. Becky found some at the library and really got into them, so as a consequence I have ended up reading through them properly. Unfortunatly it's a little difficult to follow, since there is multiple issue ones. All taking place inside the same world, and sometimes being the history of other ones. It parodies DnD quite a bit and the history is just kick ass. I love worlds where you're just thrown into it. You get a glimpse of a culture that is super rich. I say you should check it out. It's got a good story and fun jokes.

Take all lady advice with a grain of salt. Who knows where that hat guy got his intel. Personal experience or something trivial like that? Pah! Wikipedia probably has an answer for this... They don't. The combined knowledge of 7 billion people can't answer my question! Laaame.

The Turning Pt.2

I've missed these guys and their bland featureless countryside. The world of the blobby people seems to be the only one I can come back to persistently. Probably has something to do with how easy it is to create.
My boss killing on Terraria is now at 42%. I decided to go and solo this guy last night.

The Turning Pt.1

Another one I didn't have any pencils for. But lets be honest. These characters are so basic why would I need pencils. Other than for that last weird ass hand there at the bottom of course. It's just a comb or a weird shovel coming out of her shoulder stub.

Floating Above Water

I didn't have access to any pencils while drawing this one so it was just straight into the pens. So I decided I better stick to something a little more abstract.
I've been pumping the Elder Scrolls soundtracks over the last few days. I always really dug the Oblivion soundtrack. Morrowinds main theme is really nice but not as many of the tracks stand out to me. Probably because I didn't spend as much time playing it to grow overly attached to it. The Skyrim soundtrack is looking pretty intense. 4 discs. I wish they would play it in the game more often. I spend far to much time trudging through blizzardy silence.

Just Another Girl

This is another one of those doodles that won't make it into the "best of doodle a day 2011" books Ill probably put together. I'm both excited and daunted at the moment. I've been lagging behind with these doodles for the better part of MOST OF THE YEAR. Ever since I got glandular fever really. I caught up a few times, but by then my rhythm had been thrown out of kilter. I'm now twenty days away from the end of the year and I'm about a month behind. It's going to be a real stretch if  I want to be done before new years.

A Chainsaw Suit

Matt got the big ass Chainsawsuit collection the other day which is awesome. Nothing can really beat a physical book. Other than you know, a quick free service which beams comics straight into your house every time it gets updated. But other than that nothing beats books. Screw ipads and E-Readers.
Anyway, I thought the chainsaw suit looked so cool I wanted to do my own tribute to it. So there you go Kris Straub, some fan art for you to find next time you go googling yourself.

Terraria has grown on me more and more. Now that there is a tangible goal and point to the game I'm suddenly a whole lot interested. Goal one: Keep up with Matt and the gear he's amassing. Goal two: Kill all foul boss beasties. So far I think I'm doing alright with goal one. Goal two is at about 28% so far.

Red Jacket

Practicing with the tablet. This is the result of 3 or 4 false starts and scrapped images. I'm trying a new tablet (same brand, a Genius) but I'm still getting my lag issues. I'm starting to wonder if it's the pen itself. I've tried the few fixes I could find floating around online, such as fiddling with OpenGL on photoshop etc, but to no real avail.
My kingdom for an unglitchy digital process!

Spaghetti Western

I always screw up the eyes during the inking. Ill get it eventually. Becky asked me this question right out of the blue. I presume she heard her film buff brother talking about them at some point.
Spaghetti Westerns was a sub genre of the regular western where the protagonist would be trying to hunt down and kill the infamous Spaghetti Monster. Much like Cowboys and Aliens the plot was deeply philosophical. Most duels would be verbal debates, iconic for their quickfire replies and sudden camera changes. Most endings come with a twist where the protagonist wakes up and realizes it was all a dream, and he's really being used as a human battery to power his machine overlords.

Brawling In Skyrim

This happened. Although I'm not quite sure how I exactly set him on fire, because I'm pretty sure my gloves weren't enchanted for that. Either way he toasted himself and the entire tribe got pissed I killed off their most important NPC. So they all started to attack me. And then a dragon landed in the middle of everyone and I decided I should just reload and try again. So I reloaded... And just wandered off in a different direction.

Analytics has always been a constant source of Lols for me. Someone found me by googling 'Wide Hips'. I have a reputation with that topic, so it was no real surprise. Although my pic that came up really didn't have a chance against all the others. Seriously? You went for the robot? Cool man!

Ms. Crack Whore '11

I decided not to pen her in graphic detail. Ill leave her in pencils so you have to squint at her to make out the finer details of grossness. Kids! Don't do drugs! I can't think of a better way of turning you off it than just showing you the results. They say that drugs are an experience you can't miss. But being self inflictingly ugly is one you can definitely skip out!

Steampunk outfit 1

Zara recently got into the steampunk look. and like most things she gets into, she got into it with a passion of the christ. She got into it with both feet. She got into it like a Winston Peters. SURPRISINGLY.
So I'm doing my bit for the cause by adding some visuals to the whole thing. I've never been much of a fan of this weird little genre myself. But I've never been a nay-sayer to wearing corsets on the outside. So if cogs, bronze and bolts is what it takes for this to become an everyday sight then so be it!

A Pun

Yes it turns out that my characters have super hairy legs. Scarily so. Big. Black. Hairs. Almost like little antennae that give them warning signs when they're in confined spaces.
I started playing Terraria with the funding of Matt, cheers man. Its a combat focused 2D sandbox game if you haven't heard of it. Much in a similiar vein to Minecraft with less emphasis on building computers. I think it has some promise. It's a little difficult to handle on a smaller screen I noticed while playing on a laptop. Not so bad on a decent desktop (Which to be honest, isn't how most people would describe my desktop.) I'm probably one of the few people who still have a totally square screen. But at least it's flat.

This one was originally going to be "an amazing mix of watercolour and digital colouring." Or so I told myself in my head. It turned out more like a "Pile of crap."

Ha! You thought I had forgotten all about this one didn't you! The original didn't quite come out the way I intended. Oh well. That means you get two for the price of one instead! One tragic and one bad taste! Huzzah.

Size to Small

I pretty much used up the extent of my life experiences in the last week or so in the last post sadly. I mean other things happened that were hilarious  in real life, but their just a big pile of "feel good" feelings rather than anything succinct.
My Bro has moved in with his wife and kid. Their getting settled in at the moment. Elijah, who's about two should be a good mine for comics. Kids are up there with cats and porn when it comes to the internet. Man. I really shouldn't put those three things together. That reminds me of something else that's totally inappropriate! Sweet, now I have something to draw.
