Itunes Really Sucks

Itunes sucks to the point that it infused me with enough motivation to write this quick little ditty. Feel free to make it an anthem of a generation. You can do that right?
But seriously, I can just straight copy paste albums onto Android, it's fantastic. Then there's this mess. I realize that the experience for Itunes is better on an apple thing. But seriously, if this is some sort of strategy to "Treat 'em mean & keep 'em keen" then it's not working.
Which is a shame. Apple has done a seriously good job on creating solid quality products. But the software let's it way way down. Like, dropped the baby on the ground kind of down.

To show how much I don't appreciate it, I went back in this post and capitalized the "I" & not the "T". That'll show 'em. I even told my browser to remember the spelling. Diluting your brand and there's nothing you can do! HA.

Fury - Review

So for the second time in my life I managed to score tickets to an advance screening. The novelty still hasn't worn off. This time we were graced with a larger screen and free popcorn and drinks. While the cinema was fairly packed with free loaders and possibly the odd journo, it was still a good crowd to be with. No one was annoying, everyone was attentive and silent. Perfect. The movie was OK as well.

The story seems to go along at a fair clip and I was surprised at how short it felt, perhaps because only like 4 things happen during the entire film. The movie is about an American tank crew during WWII, who defies expectations and doesn't abandon their tank at the first sign of danger.
While the film takes place during the later half of the war when the allies are pummelling their way through Germany it still has a sense of loss about it, as if the allies are still the underdogs at this point. Although to be fair, the Germans did have superior armour which were seriously OP.

Shia daPoof does a great job managing to fly under Matt's radar till the end credits when his name scrolled past. "Wait, he was in there?" it was totally the moustache.
If you were expecting the quiet heroics and likeability of Band of Brothers, then you'll be left wanting. The characters are gross, dirty, and don't particularly care.
But it's a classic bromance set in the sweaty confines of a big metal war machine. Bros never let bros down.

Kristof gives it a 780,000 out of a 1,000,000

Feel free to misquote that.

Amanda Ripley - Alien Isolation

A while ago I did Ellen Ripley, it's only fair that I now do Amanda. I was holding off till I got more full body shots so I could actually figure out the details of what she was wearing, because every promo video or image release seemed to have alterations. But I think I got it in the end.
Amanda is a great character. I thought she lived up to the Ripley name quite well. She's bad arse.

At the moment IMDB has muffed up the credits doe Isolation. Kezia Burrows is currently listed as the voice, but she actually just provided the face and mo-cap for Amanda. The voice is done by Andrea Deck (who did an amazing job actually).

I think the confusion comes because Kezia voiced Nillin in Remember Me. Also when you provide a face and movement for a character people naturally assume that you're voice will do as well. Maybe it's because she couldn't pull off an American accent. Actually I'm gonna go with that. Too many questions would get raised if Amanda had a Welsh accent.

The Expendabros

Since I last reviewed BroForce back at the beginning of the year a lot has gone into the game. The guys at Freelives have been pouring themselves into the game making it more and more awesome. The Steam support for it has gotten a lot better and now you can download levels via the Workshop.
Anyway, if you're looking for another BroForce experience without shelling out a dollar or two then you can check out Expendabros. It's free on Steam.

They created this small offshoot as a way of experimenting with cutscenes and storytelling, features that aren't featured in the main BroForce game at the moment.

You should be able to bust through the game in about half an hour. Although I think the replayability of the game is pretty high. Especially if you want to plug 4 Xbox controllers into your machine and have a ball of a time with your mates.

The game can be best described as a Metal Slug Bullet Hell game. Except you're the source of the bullet hell. I didn't really take any screenshots during the hectic bits because you know, I would have died reaching for F9.

Malcolm The Bush Baby

Malcolm the Bush Baby is a coming of age story about a boy who eschewed modern living in favour of squatting around in the native bush of New Zealand.
His time is mostly taken up by raiding houses since there really isn't anything to eat in NZ bush if you don't know what you're doing. Critics are already suggesting that it's going to be better than Boy and Whale Rider. But most are adamant that it probably won't stand up to What We Do In The Shadows.

The font used for this was Olympic Branding. It's super sexy & I needed an excuse to use it.

Work on Unity has been jilted recently as my time has been filled with other garbage. Not quite sure what. I'm currently working on the jump cycle. I'm not confident on how it's going to look so progress in that area has been slow.

Oh yes, I did get a yoyo. Matt is getting us back into them. We're sort of working our way backwards in terms of nerd stuff. Not content to just stick to our current generations nerdy hobbies we're going back and plundering everyone elses. Tetris, done. Rubics Cubes, done. Yoyos, yeah pretty much. Hula Hoops, perhaps best left in the past. There are only so many things you can do without being sent to Man Child Rehab.

This space is white and I've been surrounded by far too many people recently who believe white space is bad. So I'm just going to finish this sentence right here.

Fuck ya!

Endless Nights - EP14

As a general warning, this is a video of me and my mates, if you aren't someone I know in RL then you'll probably think this video is boring as crud, since it isn't made for general consumption. But if you like chickens and think that Matt forgetting that someone's cutting my hair while filming me getting my hair cut is funny then feel free to take a look.
I got all excited about creating something, so instead of finishing the Pixel art I had on the go, I decided to finish the video instead. I was up till 1am getting it cut down. It started off as about half an hour of bad impressions, but I managed to condense everything pretty fast. I reckon I could have cut the beginning down even further but for some reason I thought that a long shot of +Ben Wilson saying he thinks John Snow was dumb was going to add value to all your collective lives. It might, you never know. By the way ladies, he's single. And tight. Just sayin'.
The poetic title is due to the fact that the videos are shot over multiple nights and events at Matts. It's the common watering hole.
Here's the playlist for this episode, with an added song that almost made the cut but not quite. I recommend checking out more of Alec's stuff, I picked both his songs, independetly of each other. I didn't realise I had the same artist till I was doing the credits.

So this is going to be the last video I shoot on my old camera before moving on to my totally sweet Panasonic hc-v750k. I'm totally amped to see what a finished product on that thing will look like. Creating audio for slo-mo might be a bit of a pain though.

Home Made Shit for Hipsters Logo

To ease the pain at work I sometimes whip out a quick whatever, just to give a font a go or try a look I don't normally have a chance to do during my day to day endeavours. To that end I present "Home Made Shit for Hipsters." You can download it here for shits and giggles. Fully editable. Put your own words in there. Claim it as your own. See if I care.
I used the Nexa Rust Slab set to make it. Go download the 5 free fonts. Also if you're interested I got the images from deathtothestockphoto.com
