Northland

Well Hanna beat me at going and telling the internet about us totally rocking out in RL. I was going to copy paste but she demanded I write my own account of events. So fine. Here I go.
The planning for this started shortly after (Or during) our Taupo excursion when Matt 'n Keir realized that Hanna wasn't one of my nut job friends. Which is always a relief when you have to share rooms and spend a couple days with someone you don't really know.
Our trip was originally scheduled in the opposite direction and half the distance from where we ended up. But it was a couple weeks ago when I was freaking out about getting my Pepsi junk in on time.
Anyway, we did our usual ritual before going on any sort of trip. Me and Matt messed about playing guitar and junk until it was time to leave to grab Keir from work. That's also about the time He decided to pack for it.
It was a pretty uneventful trip apart from the random stone cracking the window on the drivers side. Oh yeah. And we had to stop in the middle of nowhere so I could take a leak. I have what's called a "womans bladder" in the business.
We got to Hannas, which is situated in Okaihau. Cute place.
We all ended up sleeping in Hanna's room. But after I ran out of stuffed animals to hiff at Matt, attempting to cure his stertorous, I had to retreat to the living room to sleep. I woke up later and found Hanna on one of the other sofas asleep as well.
We woke on Saturday, ready and refreshed to take on everything that had to be done on our brief stay. We drove to The Waihoanga gorge walk. Hanna insisted it was a public place. But by the amount of electric fences we had to jump, guard cows we had to evade, and strafing from Magpies we got, I was seriously in doubt about her statement. it was a cool waterfall, but not as cool as Rainbow Falls we saw later on in the day.
After doing the walk we decided to try an alternate route back, to try and avoid the various hazards which we had encountered on the way there. Unfortunatly we got stuck in another field with an even harder electric fence to thwart. Even the tree stump we tried using to jump the fence was electrified, as Hanna found out.

We eventually made it to the car and set off for some forest pools, I think they were called. It's this secluded bit of stream, with a cliff face up one side and a pebble shore, made of grit and river stones.
The girls took a swim there, floating down on the rapids, while me and Matt honed our hunting skills by throwing rocks at thrown rocks.

Deciding to have a change from natural beauty we went into town and had dinner. Afterwards we went to these natural hot springs. Well, we didn't really get to try them, since as we got out of the car I realized I left my beloved bag in Mc D's. So it was a worried half hour drive back into town until I was reunited with my bag. If you know me, then you realize that the implications of loosing my bag is a big deal. That ratty old thing has been with me longer than my hat.
We got home and everyone seemed about ready to crash into sleep. We waved goodbye to Hanna, and set off into the night, for a four hour drive home.

The sun had crested on the green rolling hills to be replaced by the White Lady, her face aflush by the radiance of the day bringer. We raced beside her as we forged our way to our destination... We forged way faster than the stupid moon can.

I really wanted to get a photo of my knee near a waterfall.

Graff Hunting #2

Well it's day two of my two week break. I know I would get depressed if I spent any more time inside today so I ran off and took photos of some graff. The best pieces I found were at the end of Railside Ave. My main goal was to get to this dairy that had a bunch of new energy drinks I hadn't seen before. Once I got there and was at the counter I realized I left my card at home. So I had to leave empty handed. Kinda sucked since it's a pretty hot day out there for a change. The Indian lady probably thought I stole something as well. Oh well.

recently my mother has gotten into calligraphy. So she's spending heaps on ink made out of long forgotten Pharaohs or something. Anyway, for her class she had to come up with a short phrase and practice it. She couldn't think of anything so I suggested "Silence is Consent". Common little phrase that rolls around in my head. To my surprise she used it. If I had realized she was going to take me seriously I would have suggested something like "Death is the only escape." I can just imagine it. All the other old people at her class doing conservative things like "Home, sweet home." and "I love grandchildren." and my mum comes out and goes "YEAAAAH RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!! FIGHT THE SYSTEM YOU SHEEP!"

Scott Pilgrim vs Inception

True story. Seriously. I'm planning on getting the Scott Pilgrim comics. And I did see inception again tonight. I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the first time, since the first time I was there to experience it. This time I was there to dissect it. It answered a few questions. But a lot of the ones I put in another post still hold. Thanks Becky for shouting me! And I'm sorry it took you an hour and a half to get home cause you got lost somewhere in west Auckland.
I'm going to take this opportunity to say that 3D for the most part... Is pretty gay. In the mall they had the Avatar game going in 3D. They had glasses and stuff to use. Its pretty lame. And we movie jumped after Inception into that Kelly Slater 3D one playing at the moment. The fact we were in there for about 30 seconds before getting bored just goes to show 3D isn't enough to make a shitty movie any more interesting. With that said I want a 3DS.

Get to the posta!

Aaaah, Essay (Check) Poster (Check) Website (CRAP!). But doesn't it look sexy? Thankyou for being so awesome Century Gothic. Your gonna be the new font I thrash for the next couple months and then suddenly not like. Like I did with all those seudo grunge fonts. I know you were all like "Man Izak! Don't you realize that those fonts are sooooo 2008." Yeah.. That's exactly what you guys were thinking.. On a slightly related note I officially have less life than I did last year! Depending on how you gauge life. Posted more so far this year than I did for the entirety of last year. Now either I have done a lot more this year and have had to tell someone about it, or I have had to substitute going cold turkey from facebook with a blog patch. You be the judge.

The Pepsi Analyses

This single document has been the one thing I have been breaking my back over this week. It's surprising how long I spent on it really. Personal opinion about Coke and Pepsi? I'm impartial. Pepsi has a sweet but milder taste than Coke. Coke is sharp and crisp. Coke leaves a yuck after taste at the back of my throat. Pepsi gives me yum burps. P.s. Check out the new Library up the top there! It's all of my coolio issuu pdfs I have thrown up at various times. I probably won't put this one in there since it's kinda boring..

Navel Gazing #4

Well for the final post for Navel Gazing week I don't have a whole lot of time for you guys I'm afraid. So instead I will leave you with a great series of vids that epitomize the "Living like I'm still a teenager who hasn't a care in the world" lifestyle. It's a brief small window into a cruisier world of skating where their hero's don't include Bam Margera. Enjoy

Navel Gazing #3

Today I found a dead mutilated weasel. Guess he thought he could sneak by my rodent land mines. That taught him a lesson he wont ever forget.
I saw Inception the other day, and it's been lurking on my mind ever since. I have been willing myself into having dreams as well. It's not that difficult when I usually don't get up till 11. This mid morning dreams are always crazy. The other day I was in the middle of a dream when these people were like "Ok, so the nicest way to wake up is like this..." and then my conciousness started to feel like it was pulsing to the surface, then I woke up. It was actually a delightful way to wake up. I woke 5 minutes before the alarm I was going to ignore was going to go off. So I turned it off and went back to sleep. Similiar thing happened at 8:20, the other time I usually get up. I'm rather impressed with my body clock. I have two internal alarms depending on the time I want to wake up. Well to be honest I have a snooze internal alarm as well, which never actually goes off, so it serves its purpose perfectly.

*Inception questions alert, don't read past here if you haven't seen it yet*

Things I want to know: How does that machine work that makes them dream? If the architect makes all the dream places does that mean that they would be inside her dreams no matter how far in they go? How come other peoples projections don't fill up the dreaming like Cobbs wife? If they can create more projections how come the extractors don't train their own projections to fight back in counter, like an imaginary army. Where is limbo stored? in peoples consciousness I presume. But since they come back to it by dreaming, doesn't that just make it a new level and not limbo at all? Couldn't the architect, or host dreamer, make new levels unconsciously, unwittingly creating an infinite amount of levels? If it was all a dream and the spinning top didn't topple that would mean his wife is still alive. But does that mean all the other characters were projections? If he's really still sleeping, how far down is he? If he's only one level down that would mean time is moving quite fast and he should have woken up naturally. If he's down in a level below or near limbo that would support the theory about infinite levels.
*Your safe now*

After all is said and done, the movie was a little disappointing because the trailer showed every single special effect used, and lets all admit it, we all went to see it because we wanted people to run around in a city folding in on itself, and have nostalgic memories about seeing The Matrix for the first time. But I enjoyed it for all the questions it left behind. I can't wait for all the shitty fan fiction and youtube vids start flying around.
