When I mentioned in an earlier post that Skullgirls sometimes reminds me of Steamboat Mickey, it's entirely Peacocks fault.
As it worked so well last time, I'm including some images of Peacock in action.

Twenty Five Shots - Ep15
First video on my new camera! The quality isn't the greatest because the original vid is 2 gig, and I recompressed it at work rather than waiting till I got home to do it. I might do a replacement video over the top of this one later if I can get better results. Recoding a video twice is like 101 for getting bad pixelation and stuff.
The video features way more of my nephew than I thought it would. He's just always hanging around when the video is near. He also now equates Slow-mo with being thrown around.
The latter half of the video at the beach with the gannets is out at Muriwai.
Photography by Siobhan Hunt. Check out her daily photo challenge. She's getting real good!
Also a huge thanks to everyone who helped chip in on my new camera. You guys are all without exception awesome.

Girls in Games Year 1 Retrospective
Woo Guy Fawkes and my 8Bit Girls Anniversary! Best day ever.
So it's been exactly one year since I officially announced that this madness I've been partaking in is an actual project with an actual goal. It's been fun so far & I've had no regrets about doing it. I've learn't more about the history of games than I ever would have otherwise. My output speeds and proficiency with pixel art has also noticeably grown even to the point I've even been experimenting more with animation. At my current rate I can bust out an original solid concept in about 15 minutes. That's insane! With my Game Girls it takes me a bit longer, due to image research and trying to get small details squeezed in.
To give you an idea on what I mean by squeezing, head sizes are generally 5 pixels wide. Hips are about 3 times that. Also if I'm not mistaken, there's usually more pixels in the thunder thighs than there are in the entire upper torso. these people would have field day with my stuff... I think saying that's a "photo realistic" picture is a little over the top. Taking a photo of a barbie doll would have been photo realistic.
Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone for their continued support on Twitter, G+, and my site... Also the dude who went and mirrored all my stuff on Pinterest, you're cool as well. Without you guys stroking my fickle artist ego I wouldn't be this far into the project.
To celebrate I decided I'd collate everything into a big pile. Unfortunatly it's already out of date. Oh well.
Here's to another year.

Cerebella - Skullgirls
I consider Cerebella to be the iconic figurehead of the Skullgirls, more so than Filia. I think it's down to the recognizable silhouette of the headpiece. It tells you everything you need to know about the game straight away. Over the top Visuals and ridiculous melees.
Rather than prattle on I decided to try and screenshoot some gameplay instead. Pretty hard since I was using a 360 controller and had to reach for the keyboard everytime I wanted to take a shot. Obviously I'm using the alternative colouring for Cerebella in these shots.

Triple Threat Comic
This has been ripped directly from one of our conversations, as are most of the short strips I do these days. It's easier to passively write comics by being funny people than it is to workshop a joke.
Bonus points to anyone who spots the Hellbenders influence on this comic.

Filia - Skullgirls
May as well keep trucking along with the Skullgirls series. I love the art style of this game. for some reason I recall oldschool cartoons as I look at it. Like the original Steamboat Mickey or Popeye even though it's slanting for the Anime thing. I went to look up the artist of the game to give them a plug, and was sad to see they got tied up in the Sexism Witchhunt to which they had to do another response. It's totally ridiculous that shit like that has to be even said. I guess it's great for click baiting. I feel like all this stuff ties into the #gate that shall not be named. If I thought that the situation wasn't full of assholes on every side I'd probably do a proper post about it. But I'm just a guy who draws pixels. So I'll leave it at that until the dust clears and there's a clear understand about what anyone's actually even arguing about.

Painwheel - Skullgirls
I decided to go for a creepy-ish character, and who better than Painwheel from Skullgirls? It was either that or double. Shit, these animation tests are incredible.
I'm not one to celebrate Halloween mostly due to geography. In New Zealand, and in West Auckland in particular Halloween is something that's only done by two little girls dressed as fairies with their dad. Also occasionally some older Maori kids who are dressed as themselves who obligingly give you the convenience of getting mugged on your doorstep for whatever bits of fruit you can scrounge from the kitchen at the time.
Mum usually gives them flyers telling them they're taking part in an occult practice. Which is great when they think they've just been handed a stack of cash only to find it's a 30 year old mini comic on how they're going to hell. I guess that's spooky right? On an unrelated note...
